Disney Review: Storybook Dining At Wilderness Lodge

sarafinatravel

Today’s Disney Review is our family’s favorite character dining restaurant: Storybook Dining At Artist Point at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Wilderness Lodge itself is beautiful! Come early for your dining reservation so you can walk around the grounds and hang out in the hotel’s lobby, especially in a rocker by the giant fireplace - a nod to the one at the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park. You can drive or bus to the hotel. Simply show them your reservation at the gate for free parking.

“Artist Point” is also a node to Yellowstone - the most famous vantage point of the Yellowstone Canyon. I love stuff like that!

The restaurant is beautiful. The idea is that you are dining in a magical forest, like the one Snow White lived in with the Seven Dwarfs. And that is exactly who greets you throughout the meal: Snow White, Grumpy, Dopey, and the Evil Witch. They have a musical and dramatic entrance for each character, and then they walk around and say their one on one hellos. Dopey played hide and seek with my youngest, and I know I’ll love watching that video for years to come.

The food was wonderful, and theme based. Appetizers and desserts were shared and placed on a tiered “tree” in the center of the table, which is my favorite because you get to try a little bit of everything. I don’t want to give too much away, but the huntsman does deliver something tasty in a box in the end….

While off the beaten Disney path, this is a dinner not to be missed!
